It's Official-- Obama Picks Hillary
It's Official: Barack Obama has selected onetime rival Hillary Clinton to be his secretary of State. Obama announced several national security appointments Monday, including a dissident Bush-era Marine Corps Commandant as his National Security Advisor, and he's holding over Robert Gates as Defense Secretary.
Obama Budget Plan: Fiscal Restraint, Big Spending
President-elect Barack Obama named Peter Orszag as his budget director on Tuesday saying  his job will be to conduct a thorough review of federal spending programs, "eliminating those programs we don't need and insisting that those we do need operate in a cost-effective way."  
Pres. Elect Obama Unveils Economics Team, Talks Tax Cuts
As he introduced his economic team, President-elect Obama deferred questions about the specific size of any stimulus, and didn't  rule out delaying repeal of Pres. Bush's tax cuts. He also says "We can't just write a blank check for the auto industry," and unveiled New York Fed Bank Pres Tim Geithner as treasury secretary.
CBS News: Clinton To Leave Senate For Obama Cabinet
A senior Clinton adviser tells CBS News chief political consultant Marc Ambinder that Hillary Clinton has decided to accept Barack Obama's offer to be Secretary of State.  And the adviser tells Ambinder that earlier this week Mr. Obama formally told Senator Clinton the jobs was hers.   Meanwhile, there are reports New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is in consideration to become Obama's Commerce Secretary.

Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, an early Barack Obama supporter from the southwestern part of the country, is the likely choice for the job of secretary of homeland security, a top Obama adviser said Thursday. READ MORE


Former President Bill Clinton has agreed to publicly disclose the names of most donors to his presidential foundation and library, a significant concession aimed at helping smooth the path for his wife to become the next secretary of state.  READ MORE


Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle has accepted President-elect Barack Obama's offer to be Secretary of Health and Human Services, Democratic officials said Wednesday. The appointment has not been announced, but these officials said the job is Daschle's. READ MORE

Schumer to Hold Lottery for Inaugural Tickets
Sen. Charles Schumer plans to hold a statewide Internet lottery to handle the deluge of New Yorkers wanting to attend President-elect Barack Obama's historic inauguration. Schumer, who has received nearly 100,000 ticket requests so far, saidhis office will distribute 350 tickets in a random drawing. The link to enter, is inside this story.
Obama On 60 Minutes: Terrorists Might Attack US, Security A Priority
President-elect Barack Obama said in an interview broadcast Sunday that since terrorists might try to attack the U.S. during the White House transition, selecting his national security team is one of his top priorities. "I think it's important to get a national security team in place because transition periods are potentially times of vulnerability to a terrorist attack," Obama said.
